Upholstery Tacks have large heads and very sharp pointed ends.
When Tacks are labelled 'Improved' they have larger heads and fatter bodies than the fine tacks.
The Tack should be small enough so as not to split the wood and large enough to hold the materials in place.
16mm Improved Tacks for Webbing and Laid Cord.
13mm Fine Tacks for Hessian, Scrim, and Top Cover.
10mm Fine Tacks for Top Cover on delicate chair frames.

Very small coloured pins.Buy gimp pins to match the colour of your braid. When used their heads blend in well with the background so they don't show. Gimp Pins should be used in conjunction with adhesive, putting one at corners and then every 10" in between to help secure the braid.
